The relatives of young people unaccounted for after a deadly fire at a establishment in a Swiss alpine town are facing an agonising wait for answers and pleading for any details about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Verified images reveal the ceiling catching alight as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the fatalities of the tragedy, which killed numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. Authorities said on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with work ongoing to locate the other six.

In the meantime, relatives have been taking to online platforms to request clues about their loved ones who were present at the venue that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his mother.
