The relatives of young people unaccounted for after a deadly fire at a establishment in a Swiss alpine town are facing an agonising wait for answers and pleading for any details about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Verified images reveal the ceiling catching alight as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the fatalities of the tragedy, which killed numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. Authorities said on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with work ongoing to locate the other six.

In the meantime, relatives have been taking to online platforms to request clues about their loved ones who were present at the venue that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his mother.

The national sporting body has released a tribute that he is deceased, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who embodied dedication and authentic values."

His father, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around the new year. An official spokesperson has stated that a official announcement of his death is awaited.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His parent said that he had been on vacation but had gone out with a group and ended up at the venue.

"A companion said they ran away after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators said, "He was known for his kindness and smile, combined with great responsibility. Every time ask if get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives full-time in the country, was also at the bar on that night, according to media.

Her sibling has published an appeal online, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.
