Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident

Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a believed to be pepper spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
